From the hotel to the run at Gut
Raunerhof in Pichl bei Schladming in the Four-Mountains Skiing Arena
A winter- and skiing holiday in the heart of Ski amadé, the largest skiing arena in Austria
Over 27km of the Reiteralm seal of quality runs spread out
right from the doorstep of Hotel Gut Raunerhof. While one can glide with
pleasure down into the valley on the marvellous “Finale Grande” run,
the longest run of 7km or the World Cup Gasselhöhe run,
are a challenge for fitness and skiing ability.
As a part of the Four-Mountains Skiing Arena,
the Reiteralm is also connected to 140 further kilometres of runs of the
Hauser Kaibling, the Planai and Hochwurzen. If that is still not enough,
one can certainly find a personal favourite run in Ski amadé, which lures with 356 runs on over 800 more kilometres. With such a diversity of runs the choice is difficult – whether one should pleasantly carve down the “hotel’s own” run
into the valley or takes up the challenge in the tracks of the racing professionals
on the legendary Planai night-slalom run or the Krummholz World-Cup downhill
run on the Hauser-Kaibling.
But one thing is certain – when such diversity is offered
on the doorstep, one can safely forget one’s
car – thus
offering the best conditions for a stress-free and recuperative
holiday!
Hotel Gut Raunerhof is also otherwise perfectly accommodating for skiers. The heated dryer in the ski room on the ground floor waits to warm up your boots for the coming day. One also reaches the run directly from here. A practical detail – ski tickets are available at the hotel so that one can immediately start one’s skiing day without queuing at the ticket office.
The Ski school TOP, which is also easily reached in the hotel, offers advice for the choice of skiing courses and the gratis ski bus safely brings the little ones who wish to learn to ski to the practice slope.
The perfect swing to a stop is made best at the hotel’s “Hochsitz”. Before an impressive panorama view, one enjoys to perfection hearty delicacies or homemade cakes and pastries, while the crackling wood-fired oven spreads its pleasant warmth. The Lärchenstüberl, with its homely atmosphere, is also inviting for a cosy afternoon snack – which is included in the price for hotel guests as is equally a welcoming drink and a great deal of holiday information, free Internet use, participation in the many hotel activities and much more.
Night skiing on the Hochwurzen is certainly a special highpoint to be mentioned here. The 3km illuminated - and perfectly prepared run offers the best conditions to bring the skiing day to a close.
